Senyati Safari Camp

For those who would really like to experience nature and love a true wildlife experience, Senyati Safari Lodge is the ideal place for you. This camp has its own waterhole and viewing deck, and as a result, you will see a wide variety of game on your doorstep. Elephants are the dominant species at the waterhole, and it is a joy to watch the interaction between these fascinating giants of the African bush while sitting back and enjoying a drink or a snack at the bar. Buffalo, warthogs, waterbuck, hyenas, sable antelope, roan antelope, jackals, and a variety of birds also visit the camp regularly.

Rooms

Senyati Safari Camp has a number of self-catering units offering wonderful accommodation for those on self-drive tours who want to stay close to nature. The chalets are comfortable, with en-suite facilities. There are double chalets, family chalets, and units that can accommodate up to 8 guests if you are a group that prefers to share. The units have an outdoor braai (barbecue), a small stove, and a fridge. Cutlery and crockery are provided.

Each campsite is large and has its own private ablution facilities. There is electricity and water at each site. There is a swimming pool for those who would like to cool off after a long day in the bush.

Location

Senyati is located just a few kilometers from the Nata/ Kazungula main road. It lies only 8km from Kazungula and 18km from world renown Chobe Game Reserve.

Please note: Senyati is situated in the bush and is not on the riverbank. It is a wilderness experience. The lodge cannot be reached by motorcycle as the road to reach the lodge is quite sandy.

OTHER LODGES IN BOTSWANA

The Chobe Game Reserve can be rated as one of Botswana's best-known tourist destinations, right after the Okavango Delta. Senyati Safari Lodge is truly the answer for those who prefer self-catering accommodation. You will never be disappointed with the game around this camp. However, some people might want to stay on the banks of the Chobe River or would prefer more upmarket accommodation. Big 5 Toro Lodge is on the Chobe River, and it is a fully serviced hotel. It is not necessarily more upmarket than Senyati Safari Camp, but you will not need to break the bank to stay there. A more exclusive option might be Chobe Safari Lodge on the border of the Chobe Game Reserve. This is a luxury 4-star hotel. The Mowana Safari Lodge is also a four-star hotel, but perhaps slightly more luxurious than the Chobe Safari Lodge. Perhaps Chobe Safari Lodge offers the best value for money after Senyati Safari Camp in this region.

Most people visit Maun before or after their visit to Chobe. There is a wide selection of luxury hotels in Maun like Thamalakane River Lodge or Island Safari Lodge, which is the gateway to the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It is advisable to spend a night or two on the Makgadikgadi Pans en route between Chobe and Maun. Planet Baobab will be the perfect accommodation option. It is near Gweta and 400 km from Senyati Safari Camp and 200 km from Maun and the Okavango Delta. Temba Botswana specializes in tailor-made safaris to Botswana and to Chobe in particular. We will tailor-make a safari to suit your needs, which will include at least one lodge such as The Big 5 Chobe (Toro) Lodge near Kasane.

LODGES IN NAMIBIA

Grunau Chalets is a very popular hotel in Namibia and perhaps an overnight stop if you decide to drive from Senyati Safari Camp in Chobe to Cape Town via Namibia. Another option would be Mariental River Chalets next to the main road. Mariental River Chalets offers self-catering (self-contained) accommodation. However, if you decide to take the Trans Caprivi Highway to Namibia from Senyati Safari Camp, make sure that you spend a few nights at the Waterberg Plateau National Park with its breathtaking scenery and excellent accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION IN ZIMBABWE

Perhaps you want to visit Zimbabwe after your visit to the Chobe Game Reserve. The Zimbabwean border is less than 3 km from Senyati Safari Lodge. We strongly recommend that you visit the Troutbeck Inn  near Nyanga in the Eastern Highlands, even though it is a two-day drive from Kasane. The Great Zimbabwe Hotel is also highly recommended if you want to visit Great Zimbabwe.
